Dow's nearly 100-point jump highlighted by gains for Chevron, UnitedHealth shares

Powered by strong returns for shares of Chevron and UnitedHealth, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is climbing Thursday morning. Shares of Chevron CVX, +1.33% and UnitedHealth UNH, +0.75% have contributed to the index’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, +0.21% is trading 96 points higher (0.3%). Chevron’s shares are up $1.33 (1.3%) while those of UnitedHealth have gained $4.48, or 1.1%, combining for a roughly 38-point boost for the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the gain are Visa V, +0.74%, Procter & Gamble PG, +0.17%, and Nike NKE, +1.82%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the Dow equates to a 6.58-point swing.
