Paraguay Gazettes Decree Implementing Temporary Selective Consumption Tax Rates for Various Commodities Due to Coronavirus

The Paraguayan Official Gazette July 8 published Decree No. 5585, temporarily setting selective consumption tax (ISC) rates on various commodities, effective through Oct. 31, due to coronavirus pandemic. The decree includes measures setting the ISC rate at: 1) 2 percent on beauty products and perfumes; 2) 4 percent on specific alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages; and 3) 7 percent on alcoholic and non-alcoholic beer.
