Dow drops nearly 50 points on losses for shares of Chevron, Boeing

Shares of Chevron and Boeing are trading lower Thursday morning, sending the Dow Jones Industrial Average into negative territory. Shares of Chevron CVX, -2.49% and Boeing BA, -3.12% have contributed to the index’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, -0.19% was most recently trading 44 points lower (-0.1%). Chevron’s shares have dropped $2.72 (2.8%) while those of Boeing are off $4.75 (2.2%), combining for an approximately 49-point drag on the Dow. Dow Inc. DOW, -2.15%, American Express AXP, -1.91%, and Caterpillar CAT, -2.55% are also contributing significantly to the decline. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index results in a 6.58-point swing.
