Dow's nearly 300-point jump highlighted by gains in shares of Intel, Chevron

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is climbing Monday afternoon with shares of Intel and Chevron leading the way for the price-weighted average. Shares of Intel and Chevron have contributed to the index’s intraday rally, as the Dow was most recently trading 295 points (0.8%) higher. Intel’s shares have climbed $1.52, or 2.9%, while those of Chevron have gained $2.68 (2.8%), combining for a roughly 28-point bump for the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the gain include Boeing Dow Inc. and Caterpillar A $1 move in any of the benchmark’s 30 components equates to a 6.58-point swing.
