Dow's 609-point fall led by losses in shares of Caterpillar, Goldman Sachs

Dragged down by negative returns for shares of Caterpillar and Goldman Sachs, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is in a selloff Monday morning. The Dow was most recently trading 609 points, or 1.8%, lower, as shares of Caterpillar and Goldman Sachs are contributing to the index’s intraday decline. Caterpillar’s shares are down $9.52, or 4.8%, while those of Goldman Sachs have fallen $15.86, or 4.1%, combining for a roughly 167-point drag on the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the decline are JPMorgan Chase American Express and Travelers A $1 move in any of the index’s 30 components results in a 6.58-point swing.
