Western Digital engages with Empower as 401(k) plan record keeper

Western Digital Corp., San Jose, Calif., hired Empower Retirement as record keeper of its 401(k) plan.

Empower Retirement will replace T. Rowe Price Group, the company disclosed in an 8-K filing with the SEC on Nov. 19. A reason for the change was not provided.

A blackout period for participants will begin at 4 p.m. EST on Dec. 23 and end during the week of Jan. 9.

As of Dec. 31, the Western Digital Corp. 401(k) Plan had $2.2 billion in assets, according to the company’s most recent 11-K filing.

Company spokeswoman Erin Hartin could not be immediately reached for further information.
