Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Friday at 10:49AM

Inox Wind Energy Ltd.(up 5.00%), Jyoti Structures Ltd.(up 3.27%), NLC India Ltd.(up 2.32%), Energy Development Company Ltd.(up 2.32%), Karma Energy Ltd.(up 1.99%), Reliance Power Ltd.(up 1.46%), Tata Power Company Ltd.(up 1.31%), India Power Corporation Ltd.(up 0.86%), NHPC Ltd.(up 0.77%) and RattanIndia Power Ltd.(up 0.58%) were among the top gainers.

KPI Green Energy Ltd.(down 5.00%), Transformers & Rectifiers(India)Ltd.(down 5.00%), Indo Tech Transformers Ltd.(down 5.00%), Hitachi Energy India Ltd.(down 2.30%), Power and Instrumentation(Gujarat)Ltd.(down 1.99%), Indowind Energy Ltd.(down 1.89%), GE T&D India Ltd.(down 1.45%), GE Power India Ltd.(down 1.40%), Suzlon Energy Ltd.(down 1.31%) and KEC International Ltd.(down 0.87%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 32.55 points down at 22537.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 157.4 points at 74182.04 at around 10:49AM.

Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 9.04%), Divi’s Laboratories Ltd.(up 3.6%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 3.59%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 2.45%), Wipro Ltd.(up 2.33%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 1.38%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 1.1%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 0.94%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 0.89%) and Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 0.75%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 7.04%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 3.23%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 1.58%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.55%), State Bank of India(down 1.09%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 1.06%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.03%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 1.03%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 0.93%) and Bharti Airtel Ltd.(down 0.88%) were trading in the red.
