Around seven equity mutual funds have offered over 25% returns in both three- and five-year periods. We have looked at the performance of 193 equity mutual funds, which have completed five years of existence in the market.
Four smallcap funds, two midcaps and one multicap fund offered over 25% returns in the mentioned horizons.

HDFC Mid-Cap Opportunities Fund, the largest midcap fund based on assets managed, offered 25.96% and 28.85% returns in the last three and five years, respectively. HSBC Small Cap Fund offered 25.50% and 30.24% returns in three- and five-year periods, respectively.
Motilal Oswal Midcap Fund offered over 25% returns in both the horizons. The next two schemes on the list were from Nippon India Mutual Fund. Nippon India Multi Cap Fund and Nippon India Small Cap Fund offered over 25% returns in both horizons.
Quant Small Cap Fund delivered 25.99% and 45.43% returns in three- and five-year periods, respectively. Tata Small Cap Fund delivered 25.06% and 32.54% returns in the last three- and five-year periods, respectively.Note, despite offering over 25% returns, some schemes didn’t make it to the above list as many offered over 25% returns either in the last three or five years. We have considered only those which have offered over 25% returns in both the horizons.Axis ELSS Tax Saver Fund, the largest ELSS scheme based on assets managed, offered 7.82% in the last three years and 14.43% in the last five years. The largest flexi cap fund, Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund, offered 16.39% and 25.03% in the last three and five years, respectively.

SBI BlueChip Fund, a prominent fund managed by the largest fund house, gave 12.56% and 17.21% returns in the last three and five years, respectively. SBI Contra Fund, the largest and the oldest contra fund, offered 24.16% and 30.29% returns in three and five years, respectively.
SBI Long Term Equity Fund, the oldest ELSS fund, offered 23.48% returns in the last three years and 25.34% returns in the last five years.
