A masterplan for new retirement apartments and a shop in Nuneaton has been revealed. The proposal is for land on Bermuda Road, next to the Bermuda Phoenix Community Centre.
This, Deeley Properties and Housing 21, says can play home 42 affordable retirement living apartments. A separate application will also be submitted for a new convenience store next to the community centre.
Locals in the area have received letters about the proposal. A new website has also been set up which showcases details about the proposal.

The site plan shows that the application would be on land next to the community centre, including its current car park.

On the proposals, the website states: “This will help to meet local need for retirement accommodation, and deliver a much-needed shop for existing local residents.”
It adds: “Our plans include a new convenience store, which will be submitted as a separate planning application. This will adjoin the existing Bermuda Phoenix Community Centre and serve as a valuable new facility that meets the needs of both future residents and the wider community. We are currently in advanced discussions with an operator, and further information will be shared on this in due course.
“By offering this much-needed service and creating new local jobs, we are confident that the shop will become a valuable asset for the area. We will also be re-providing car parking spaces for the community centre as part of the plans.”
Consultation is now underway into the proposals before any plans are officially submitted to the borough council. The proposals can be found on the website here
