Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: Sensex closed 102 points lower at 84,961, Nifty fell 38 points to 26,141. Titan, Senco, Kalyan Jewellers rallied, Cipla and Maruti Suzuki dropped. Lemon Tree Hotels surged on stake news.

Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: Indian equities recovered from intraday lows to end near flat on Wednesday. The Sensex slipped 102 points to close at 84,961, while the Nifty fell 38 points to 26,141, managing to hold above the 26,100 mark.

Broader markets outperformed, with the midcap index rising 276 points to 61,425, helping market breadth stay marginally in favour of advances. In contrast, the Nifty Bank declined 128 points to 59,991, weighed down by HDFC Bank and auto stocks.

Sectorally, IT stocks provided support, while autos remained under pressure. Cipla was the top Nifty loser after its partner received US FDA observations. Maruti Suzuki saw profit booking from record highs, falling up to 5% intraday, while Tata Motors PV slipped nearly 2%.

Among gainers, auto ER&D stocks surged on positive brokerage notes, with Tata Elxsi and KPIT up 6–10%. Jewellery stocks rallied on strong Q3 updates, led by Titan, Senco and Kalyan Jewellers, up 4–11%. Lemon Tree Hotels jumped over 4% on reports of a potential Warburg Pincus stake purchase.

Elsewhere, IEX gained another 3% ahead of the market coupling case hearing on Friday, while Hindustan Zinc fell over 2% as silver prices retreated from record highs.
