The food inflation has declined by a stellar 91 basis points in comparison to March 2025, which was already down over 100 basis points lower than the following month. Also, it is for the 3rd consecutive month that the CPI inflation has stayed below the 4% mark, reflecting a commendable trajectory that underlines the robust domestic economic growth.
On a broader level, this indicated a sound macro-economic management highlighting the fact that even amid a tense situation at the border, India is well positioned to manage inflation with sheer efficiency, thanks to a rapidly evolving robust warehousing and logistics infrastructure, aided to some extent by moderate fuel prices.
There is a sense of stability in liquidity flow and the same looks promising to be sustained in the longer term. Also, predictions of a favourable monsoon season will ensure that inflation is kept well in check. This will also reflect positively on the food services sector in terms of some relief in nature produce prices.
