You may have seen BigFoot trucks around town restocking stores, but employees with the beverage company are still on strike.

Our station has been following the BigFoot Beverage Co. strike since the picket line began over a month ago.

According to the company, they’re in the process of rebuilding their driver team.

Still, no resolution seems in sight, as employee’s pensions remain the chief point of concern.

Our station reached out to both sides for an update on the state of the strike.

In a letter sent out to partners that we’ve received from a company representative BigFoot said in part:

Regrettably the unions have refused our employees to vote on our last, best, and final employer proposal; which would have kept our team among the highest compensated in the beverage distribution company.

We’ve shown flexibility options where current employees remain in the western conference of teamsters pension, while offering new hires our enhanced 401K.

We are dissappointed that unions summarily rejected this option without even discussing it with our team members.

Our station also reached out to the local teamsters union for an update, with representative Geoff Steward providing the following quote:

Bigfoot Beverages continues it’s attack on working families by refusing to address its striking workers need to maintain it’s pension retirement plan. I want to make it very clear, workers at Bigfoot have been under this pension plan for decades, the company is trying to take this benefit away to save a few bucks.Their employees are prepared to stay out as long as it takes for the company to do the right thing.
