[NEW YORK] The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq opened higher on Thursday (Apr 17), with focus on US-Japan tariff talks, while a slump in UnitedHealth’s shares dragged the Dow lower.
UnitedHealth’s shares tumbled 18 per cent after the company lowered its forecast for the year.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 462.72 points, or 1.17 per cent, to 39,206.67.
The S&P 500 rose 29.8 points, or 0.56 per cent, at the open to 5,305.45, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 92.8 points, or 0.57 per cent, to 16,399.973 at the opening bell. REUTERS
