Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors have crafted a dynasty over the past decade.
Bringing the organization four championships and making history along the way.
Curry has been the leader, but he couldn’t have done it without the core alongside him.
This core was mainly Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, who played massive roles in each of their four championship wins.
Now that each of them is getting older, they certainly have to be thinking about when they will wave the white flag.
Green recently revealed his retirement plans in an interview with The Athletic.
“I don’t know what that exact number is, but I do know I still enjoy a lot of what comes with this. And as long as I enjoy it, and can go through that process and give what I need to give to be at an elite level, I don’t foresee a reason to tie my shoestrings together and throw them over the telephone rope yet,” Green said Tuesday.
“I’m in a space where I can fully look at this through one lens, and that’s ‘How is the basketball?’ That’s the grind of it, what I’m giving, the competition on a nightly basis. Going out there, how do I feel mentally and physically? All of that stuff is still very much intact. So that’s the only lens I need to look through right now.”
Draymond is now 35 years old and has been with the Warriors all 14 years of his NBA career.
He is a four-time All-Star, a Defensive Player of the Year winner, and one of the best glue guys in history.
Some may not like the way he approaches the game, but he is a Hall of Fame lock.
Green sees no end in sight as long as he remains healthy.
